Wherever you go in the new B-Class, you go in style. The design of the exterior is quite deliberately sporty; and this can be further accentuated with optional packages and/or design and equipment lines.
Sporty, elegant design and high-quality materials set the tone in the interior of the B-Class. And the layout is so clear that the driver can concentrate on something that is perhaps not as attractive, but certainly more important: the traffic.
Exclusivity, modernity and scope for individualisation are heightened further still in the new-generation B-Class. This can be seen in the large free-standing display for the head unit, for example; or the sophisticated-looking dials in the instrument cluster. A further highlight is the new generation of 3-spoke steering wheels, for which there are various different designs. Attractive materials and colours are available for the different packages and design and equipment lines - ranging from the Venlo upholstery fabric or cranberry red leather to black RED CUT leather. The sophisticated look is rounded off by options such as the LED-based ambient lighting with twelve different colours available, exceptionally attractive trim elements and details such as the galvanised switches in silver chrome for the electrical seat adjustment function.
The Style design and equipment line projects confidence. This is provided by the comfortable upholstery covered in the Vianen fabric in black or crystal grey, which is set off to high-quality perfection by the line pattern trim.The Urban line gives the new-generation B-Class a particularly dynamic appearance thanks to its 5-spoke alloy wheels (multi-spoke alloy wheels finished in vanadium silver for the B 200 Natural Gas Drive), radiator trim with chrome inserts and rear bumper with short chrome trim elements. And the AMG Line endows the B-Class with a confident and sporty air. With its AMG 5-twin-spoke, high-sheen alloy wheels finished in titanium grey, multifunction sports steering wheel adorned with red contrasting topstitching and dynamic AMG bodystyling – consisting of front and rear apron and side sill panels – the Sports Tourer looks and feels the epitome of sportiness.
Innovative driving dynamics
Whether with a manual gearbox or 7G-DCT dual clutch transmission, a fuel-saving or a sporty driving style – the three transmission types available for the B-Class are perfectly tailored to the engines. They set the benchmarks with regard to ease of shifting, efficiency and weight optimisation. The newly developed 6-speed manual transmission is superbly tuned to the engine output, gear spacing and final-drive ratio of the new B-Class and features short and precise shift travel.
It includes the ECO start/stop function which reduces fuel consumption and emissions as the engine is switched off under certain conditions when the vehicle is at a standstill. In addition a display in the instrument cluster supports a particularly efficient driving style by providing gear change recommendations.
